Imitation “Zinc Magnesium Aspartate” products are not ZMA®

By: Victor Conte, The Creator of ZMA®

ZMA® has become one of the most popular sports nutrition products in history. SNAC created its special proprietary nighttime formula and trademarked the name ZMA® in 1996. ZMA® was the first product developed specifically to enhance performance by improving recovery and sleep efficiency. This original formula is now distributed under SNAC licensing agreements by respected companies around the globe.

Due to the success of ZMA®, there are now companies selling imitation
"Zinc Magnesium Aspartate" products. These products are not the same as ZMA®. Authentic ZMA® is manufactured using a "reacted" chelation process that "double bonds" the zinc and magnesium to the amino acid molecules. This proprietary process greatly enhances absorption of the zinc and magnesium needed for immune support and muscle function.

Many of these copycat products are simply ingredients "blended" together without the chelation of zinc and magnesium. Other knockoffs contain reduced dosages. Consumers should be aware that these imitation "Zinc Magnesium Aspartate" products may be far less expensive to manufacture and may not produce the same results as ZMA®. An easy way to ensure that a product contains genuine ZMA® is to look for the SNAC System trademark on the bottle.
